After the success of CMMI in Brief we will organize another free seminar. This time the subject will be "psychology of communication". As we all know, communication skills differentiate the good from the best. In this 2-hour seminar, Ben Cassiman from 2Interact will explain how you can improve the communication in your team in order to boost team performance. He will talk about the different styles of communication and how these styles will influence the way we interact.
When you attend this seminar, you will receive a personal communication profile that provides insight in the way you communicate and behave.

Does it take certification to become a successful project manager? Probably not, but it certainly helps to have a framework of proven practices at hand when managing a project. In that sense, a project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2) differentiates the "do it yourself" project managers from the people that believe in the consistent use of proven practices. Moreover, applying a standard project management method will lead to the use of a common language and thus will facilitate communication across teams and across organisations.
So, besides a sound approach, what does it really take to be successful in project management? It is widely known that assertiveness, communication skills, leadership skills and other soft skills are what it really takes to be successful in project management. Motivating a team to go somewhere they have never gone before, getting commitment, resolving issues, overcoming obstacles, negotiating deals, ... is what really keeps you busy as a project manager. In order to help you to improve these skills, we have introduced 2 highly practical 1-day courses that can be taken separately or in combination. Both courses are facilitated by Michel Coens in his well-known interactive and dynamic style. Satisfaction guaranteed!
Leadership Skills for Project Managers: gain a better understanding of the skills needed for building successful relationships with major stakeholders. By taking part in lively discussions, participants learn a mix of leadership competencies that are needed to getting things done.
Assertiveness & Negotiation Skills for Project Managers: learn about assertive behavior, negotiation and conflict handling skills. Theory will be kept to a minimum in order to make enough time available for role-playing. All role-plays are based on real-life project situations.
The fee for each course is €499,- if you take the 2 courses together, you pay 749,-

Both our Certified ScrumMaster course and our PRINCE2 Foundation course have been selected as "best value for money" by Aetiris (search engine for IT training). Even though we do not necessarily want to be the " cheapest all the time", we do want to make sure that you get the most value for your money. We ensure this by working primarily with trainers that are full-time employees of TeamProsource. Besides teaching courses, our trainers are also coaches at client projects. This ensures their ability to provide state-of-the-art practical examples. Moreover, when attending a course at our Prosource Academy you will experience our well-known personal customer service. Because for us each course is a journey, starting from the moment you register until the day you receive your course certificate. We will make sure you will enjoy each step in your learning journey. |

Do you recognize these impediments in your Scrum/Kanban teams?
Doing stand-ups, retrospectives, business communication, review meetings, defining policies …
- How do you deal with giving or getting feedback?
- How do you deal with conflict/disagreements/opposite opinions?
- How do you keep the debate open and alive?
- Are your policies and your improvement process colliding?
- How do you run a stand-up effectively, consistently and productively?
- How do you create buy-in?
| How important are people skills in your Scrum/Kanban team(s)?
When implementing Scrum/Kanban, most organizations run into collaboration problems, typically caused by crude communication: crooked communication creates frustration and friction, sometimes even disappointment and you will lose the preciously harvested early benefits and momentum. read morePsychology of Communication program for Scrum/Kanban teams
From relevant experience, 2interact and TeamProsource bring a high impact program implementing the psychology of communication in Scrum/Kanban teams. The program is aimed at Scrum/Kanban teams and their stakeholders (team leaders, line managers, Scrum masters, product owners, coaches …) that want to prevent inadequate communication to impact the team’s performance. We invite you to witness the impact of this course on our public training on 14 & 15 November 2012. read more/register Some stats and facts- Poor communication costs organizations between 25% and 40% of their budgets
- 14% of each 40 hour work week is wasted specifically due to poor communication between managers and their staffs
- 80% of their time employees are communicating orally with others on a daily basis
- The Agile Manifesto says: "[The agile principles value] Individuals and interactions over processes and tools"
- The 6th core property of the Kanban method is to “Improve Collaboratively”

I participated in the first 2-day Kanban training class led
by Patrick Steyaert, Approved Kanban Trainer.
This training gave me both a broad overview of the
Kanban method and how to apply it to projects, as well as detailed insights in
most of its practices. Theory is mixed with a lot of games and exercises so it
can be applied instantly. The major exercise is a case study around a real-life
project (each group chooses one project from their own experience). This allows each group to actually discover
the Kanban method by applying it to the chosen subject.
It is up to the participants to decide on what
topics to zoom in in greater detail – there is course material for at least 3
days but the course unfortunately is only 2 days. Patrick is a very
enthusiastic trainer; he has loads of practical knowledge that he enjoys to
share. There is a lot of opportunity to
ask questions and discuss, making it a very interactive and pleasant
experience.
The beauty of this training is the fact that all
participants are already applying, or about to start applying lean principles
what makes them very interested and actively involved. Even during lunch and other breaks,
conversations are about applying Kanban...or about the delicious desserts J

Marc De Krock ( @MarcDeKrock), one of our senior project coaches, is at this moment in Qatar to help start up a very large construction project. The objective of the project is to build a large harbor by 2016. The project is in its start up phase. Marc helps the customer in developing the project management plan and in establishing the risk management plan and risk register. The project master schedule is developed with Primavera P6. Marc's role as a Project Control Manager is to make sure the project is managed according to best practices and to perform continuous risk management.
As a part of our Prosource Assist services, TeamProsource helps customers in the construction business to establish a Work Breakdown Structure to define the project scope and to develop a realistic project budget and project schedule that is based on the WBS. We implement Earned Value management to accurately measure and report about project performance. Moreover, we implement and perform pro-active risk management. |
