This is an SEI (Software Engineering Institute) authorised offering of the 3-day Introduction to the CMMI, version 1.3. This three-day course introduces managers and practitioners, appraisal team members, and process improvement teams to CMMI fundamental concepts. The CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) model is a tool that helps organisations to improve their ability to develop and maintain quality products and services.

The course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample opportunity for participant questions and discussions. After attending the course, participants will be able to describe the components of the CMMI-DEV model and their relationships, discuss the process areas in the CMMI-DEV model, and locate relevant information in the model.

This course fulfils a prerequisite requirement for many courses requiring an official SEI Introductory CMMI course (e.g., "Intermediate Concepts of CMMI", "SCAMPI Lead Appraiser Training", and "Understanding CMMI High Maturity Practices"). This course also fulfils a prerequisite if you want to be a member of a CMMI-DEV SCAMPI appraisal team.

The trainer for this course is Nico Marien, Managing Partner of TeamProsource. In addition to the standard content, he will share practical process improvement tips and tricks that will enable you to start up and run CMMI-based process improvement programmes in the most efficient way. He will also put CMMI in the context of other standards and models like PMBOK®, PRINCE2®, Agile, etc.

This course is an Official SEI Offering. It is offered by TeamProsource as an authorized SEI Partner.
